Closing down your website? - DON'T just walk away!
Due to constant requests from the public and clients, plus the fact that we see so many people simply give up on their websites, Web Inn has now created a service for the sale and purchase of South African websites and domains.
With this service it means that you do not need to simply throw away everything you have invested if you decide to stop operating your website. Very often your domain name, website (or both together) have a resale value, but many people do not seem to realise this and simply stop operating.
We are not official brokers, but we have many years experience on the internet and the acquisition and sale of online assetts and we are now making this service publicly available. We therefore act as the middle man to assist in getting a fair deal for your hard work and capital investment.
There are 2 options available to sellers:
Option One - Pure listing
This is a simple service allowing the seller to list their website/domain/online business for a set fee. All communications are directly between buyer and seller and Web Inn is entirely uninvolved in the process.
The onus rests entirely with buyer and seller to discuss, negotiate and conclude the deal.
The listing fee is not refundable under any cirumstances.
Pros: A much cheaper option.
Cons: Buyer and seller are on their own and do not have the benefit of assistance, advice or risk-minimisation that Web Inn provides with Option Two.
Option Two - Middle-man service
With this option Web Inn provides additional services to help facilitate a mutually beneficial sale and protect the interests of both parties.
Service Inclusions
Pre-sale we provide the following:
- Free value estimate on websites
- Free listing on our website
- In some cases we know of people or organisations who may be interested in a domain/website that has been listed with us. In such a case we contact the potential buyers directly on behalf of the seller.

Free liasson between buyer and seller and assistance with negotiations to the point of conclusion.

On all sales equalling more than R15 000 we provide a free basic Sale Agreement designed to protect both buyer and seller.
Post-sales we provide the following:
- Free assistance and advice with the acquisition and securing of the items purchased
- Free assistance with the smooth conclusion of the deal
- Free assistance with the first level resolution of any dispute that may arise between buyer and seller, excluding involvement in any dispute that may resort to any recourse provided by law (in other words, once lawyers and courts get involved, Web Inn is no longer involved).
Fees:
We charge a fee equal to 10% of the agreed purchase price or R200, whichever is the higher, payable by the seller. This is a finders fee and is therefore payable in full regardless of the extent of the service provided or time spent by Web Inn in securing the sale. This fee is payable before any payments pass to the seller.
Payment:
Under Option Two, all purchase payments are made to Web Inn and held secure until such time as all purchased items have been successfully transferred to the buyer. Once the buyer is in full posession of all items, payment is released to the seller.
This condition can be waived and payment made direct to the seller instead, provided that:
- Both parties have agreed to this in writing
- The full amount owing to Web Inn for its services have been paid to Web Inn by the seller
Please Note: Web Inn reserves the right to refuse this service to any party and is under no obligation to provide any reason for doing so.
Web Inn, in the provision of this service, provides no guarantee that any items listed for sale will in fact be sold.
