Marketing Grants Available to Web Inn Clients

Web Inn is registered with TEP (Tourism Enterprise Programme) as a preferred supplier in Durban. Registration with TEP is not just something that a service provider signs up for. TEP selects only those companies that it accepts as credible in terms of what they do and how they do it. This is yet another reason that you have complete peace of mind when you deal with us.

It also means that small to medium businesses may be elligible for a 50% grant on a website developed by us.

If you are in the broader tourism industry and do not yet have a website, or have one that's tired, outdated and needs to be redone, this is the perfect opportunity to get a professional, custom built website at half the going rate.

Looking at our standard pricing, this means that you can have a meaningful internet presence for as little as R850 one-off or get a state of the art dynamic website with a huge saving. Whatever your preference, the grant remains the same: 50%.

How it Works
The grants that are made available are aimed specifically at promoting the tourism industry in South Africa.

This grant facility does not just apply to website development, but marketing as a whole, which means that you can get your logo designed, your brochures printed, your business cards printed and even your stand at the next recognised tourism-related exhibition, all hugely discounted. In short, you can get the entire marketing arm of your business up and running at half the normal cost with a full marketing grant.

TEP Requirements
In order to qualify for funding in the form of a grant, you need to be a member of TEP, which is free and the grant must normally be for something that does not pre-exist.
Your business must be a small to medium business (SMME) operating as either a direct tourism enterprise or an indirect tourism enterprise.

A Direct Tourism Enterprise automatically qualifies for TEP assistance and grants. These are SMME's that earn more than 50% of their income from the tourism industry and include:

  • Accommodation establishments (any type or size)
  • Tour operators
  • African Arts or crafts (paintings, sculptures, beadwork, etc)
  • Restaurants
  • Cultural centres
  • Theatres or museums
  • Travel agents
  • Transport providers (eg. car hire, shuttle services)
  • Community based tourism

An Indirect Tourism Enterprise is any business that earns less than 50% of its revenue from the tourism industry, but provides direct support to the tourism industry by way of products or services. Assistance to these businesses will only be available from TEP for projects / transactions that form part of the tourism economy.

Process
The following is what would be involved in applying for a grant for a Web Inn website:

  • Become a member of TEP
  • Present your application for a grant to TEP along with our quote. If the total cost of your website is less than R5000, only the one quote is needed. If the total cost is above R5000, then you need to submit 2 other quotes with ours.
  • Obtain approval from TEP (fairly quick)
  • Pay a 50% deposit for the website (TEP require this as a show of good faith from you)
  • Once the site is done to your satisfaction, you pay the balance and TEP refunds you, or TEP pays us the balance direct.

If you would prefer us to do your entire start-up package (Logo, stationery, brochures, website, etc) we will work with you to ascertain your exact needs and best options, then present a single quote so that you only need to go through the grant process once.
